Marketing role
AI App Store Optimizer
An AI ASO specialist that writes your App Store and Google Play metadata to each store’s rules, plans the screenshots, and turns reviews into fixes.
Give it your app, your current listings and the competitors you lose installs to, and it does the work behind app store optimisation: researching what people search for, writing the title, subtitle and keyword field for the App Store and the title, short and full description for Google Play — each within its limit and written for how that store searches — planning the screenshot story, and drafting localised versions. It also reads the reviews you export and tells you what users keep asking for.
Things you could ask for
Written the way you would actually say them. The agent plans the steps itself.
- “Write our App Store name, subtitle and 100-character keyword field, and our Google Play title and short description. Do not repeat a word between name, subtitle and keywords.”
- “Research the top five apps for “ai assistant” on both stores and summarise how each positions itself in its title, first screenshot and short description.”
- “Plan an eight-screenshot sequence for our listing: the caption and the screen for each, in the order a person scrolls them.”
- “Here are last month’s reviews. Group the complaints, tell me which ones a release could fix, and draft replies to the five most recent negative ones.”
- “Translate and adapt our listing for German and Japanese — not word for word, but for what people in those markets search.”
What you get back
Metadata for each store in a sheet with the character count beside every field, a keyword map, competitor summaries with links, a screenshot plan with captions and designs in Canva, review themes with draft replies, and localised listings ready to paste into App Store Connect or the Play Console.
Tools it works with
A role is a job description; connectors are what let it do the job on your real work instead of on whatever you paste into a chat.
Where it is the wrong tool
- It cannot change your listing. There is no App Store Connect or Google Play Console connector, so it cannot publish metadata, upload screenshots, read your keyword rankings or see install numbers — you paste the copy in and share the figures.
- Search volumes it states from memory are guesses. Neither store publishes keyword volume; use your own data or an ASO tool for numbers, and treat its suggestions as candidates to test.
- It will not incentivise reviews or write fake ones. Both Apple and Google prohibit it, and it can get an app removed.
- Store rules change. Character limits and policies are checked against what it knows, so confirm against the current guidelines before you submit.
Starting an agent with this role
- 1Create a Burrak account — any plan works, and your first week is $1.
- 2In the Marketplace, open the Roles tab, find App Store Optimizer and choose “Start an agent as App Store Optimizer”. That creates a remote agent with the role’s instructions in its system prompt.
- 3Connect the tools it needs — Google Sheets, Google Docs, Notion, Canva, Tavily Web Search — from Connectors.
- 4Give it a brief. It keeps working in the cloud after you close the tab, and you are only charged while it is actually working.
The App Store Optimizer role, in practice
- Is App Store optimisation the same on iOS and Android?
- No, and the difference shapes the copy. On the App Store, search reads the name, subtitle and a hidden 100-character keyword field — not the description. On Google Play there is no keyword field, and the title, short description and full description are all read, so the full description is written for search as well as for people.
- Can it design the screenshots?
- It plans them and, with Canva connected, builds them from your brand template. The plan comes first: what each screen shows and the caption on it, because most people decide from the first two or three without reading anything else.
- How is this different from the SEO Specialist?
- Same discipline, different search engine. The SEO Specialist works on your website in Google; the App Store Optimizer works on your listings inside the App Store and Google Play, where the rules, the limits and the ranking signals are different.
