Marketing role

AI Reddit Community Builder

An AI Reddit marketer that finds threads where your customers ask for help, checks each subreddit’s rules, and drafts replies — posted only when you approve.

Tell it what you sell and who it is for, and it does the slow part of Reddit marketing: finding the subreddits where those people talk, reading each one’s rules on self-promotion before anything is written, watching for threads where your product genuinely answers the question, and drafting replies that help first and mention you only where it is allowed and relevant. It also tracks what people say about you and your competitors, so you hear the complaint before it becomes the top comment.

Things you could ask for

Written the way you would actually say them. The agent plans the steps itself.

  • “Find ten subreddits where small-agency owners ask about automating client reporting. For each, tell me its size, how active it is and what its rules say about mentioning your own product.”
  • “Every morning, search Reddit for new threads that mention us or our two main competitors, and send me the ones worth answering with a draft reply for each.”
  • “Read the last month of top posts in r/SaaS and tell me which questions keep coming back that nobody has answered well.”
  • “Draft a genuinely useful post for r/startups on what we learned pricing our product — no link, no pitch — and check it against the subreddit’s rules first.”
  • “Prepare our founder’s AMA: the subreddit to hold it in, the questions people are likely to ask, and honest answers to the hard ones.”

What you get back

A subreddit map in a sheet with size, activity and the self-promotion rule for each; a daily digest of threads worth answering with a draft reply beside each; post drafts checked against the subreddit’s rules; brand-mention and competitor summaries; and AMA preparation notes. With the Reddit connector signed in, an approved reply or post goes out from your account in the same conversation.

Where it is the wrong tool

  • It posts only what you approve, from the Reddit account you connect. The Reddit connector can search, read posts and comments, check a subreddit’s rules, and post or comment; ask for the draft first every time, because it goes out under your name.
  • It will not run sock-puppet accounts, buy or trade upvotes, or hide that you work for the company. Reddit bans all three, and a community that catches you remembers.
  • Reddit search is not a full listening tool. It misses some threads and favours recent ones, so treat the daily digest as a strong sample, not a complete record of every mention.
  • It cannot read your Reddit ads account or private messages. Paste in campaign figures or a modmail thread if you want them read.

Starting an agent with this role

  1. 1Create a Burrak account — any plan works, and your first week is $1.
  2. 2In the Marketplace, open the Roles tab, find Reddit Community Builder and choose “Start an agent as Reddit Community Builder”. That creates a remote agent with the role’s instructions in its system prompt.
  3. 3Connect the tools it needs — Google Sheets, Google Docs, Notion, Tavily Web Search, PostHog — from Connectors.
  4. 4Give it a brief. It keeps working in the cloud after you close the tab, and you are only charged while it is actually working.

The Reddit Community Builder role, in practice

Can you market a product on Reddit without being banned?
Yes, but by answering questions, not by announcing yourself. Most subreddits limit self-promotion and many forbid it outright, so it reads each subreddit’s rules before it drafts anything and tells you where a mention is allowed. Where it is not, the reply helps without one.
Will it post on its own?
Only if you tell it to, and the default is not to. It drafts, you read and approve, and then it posts from your connected account. A scheduled task can find threads and draft replies every morning without posting any of them.
How is this different from the Social Media Strategist?
The Social Media Strategist plans a calendar across platforms you broadcast on. Reddit works the other way round: you join conversations other people start, under each community’s own rules. This role does that one thing well.
