Burrak AI vs n8n
n8n is the serious engineer’s answer: a fair-code workflow platform with AI agent nodes, free to self-host, billing one execution per workflow run however many steps it contains. It is the cheapest thing here at scale and the only one you can read the source of. It is also the one that asks the most of you.
What n8n does better
- Source-available under a fair-code licence — you can read it, change it, and run it on your own hardware. Burrak cannot offer that.
- Free self-hosted with unlimited workflows and executions; you pay for a server, not a seat.
- Execution-based billing beats per-task pricing badly on long workflows.
- AI agent nodes are free at the platform level — you pay your own model provider directly, at cost.
Where Burrak is different
Nothing to run
Self-hosting is a server to patch, back up and monitor, and n8n Cloud exists precisely because that is real work. Burrak’s remote agents run on our infrastructure with nothing for you to operate.
No workflow to build first
n8n wants a graph — nodes, connections, error branches. Burrak takes the goal in a sentence and plans its own steps, which is the difference between an afternoon and a minute for a job you will run once.
Models included, not assembled
n8n’s AI nodes need your own provider keys and your own billing at each vendor. Burrak routes across 340+ models on one account and one balance.
A local agent, not just a local server
Self-hosted n8n runs where you put it, but it is still a workflow engine. Burrak’s local agent works directly with your files and desktop.
Pick n8n
You have the engineering capacity to run it, you want source access or data residency on your own hardware, and your workflows are repeatable enough to be worth building.
Pick Burrak
You would rather describe the job than draw it, you do not want to operate infrastructure, or you want model routing without wiring up providers yourself.
Where Burrak is the weaker choice
- Far fewer integrations than the automation incumbents — 66 against Zapier’s thousands. If app coverage decides it, they win.
- Not source-available. n8n can be read, modified and run on your own hardware; Burrak cannot.
- No voice agents, and no visual workflow builder for pipelines you want to draw rather than describe.
- No iOS app yet — Android is on Google Play, iPhone is still to come.
- A smaller, newer product than any of these, with a correspondingly smaller community.
