Engineering role
AI Mobile App Builder
An AI mobile developer that reads your iOS, Android or cross-platform code, writes the screen or the fix, and checks it against store rules before review does.
Point it at your app’s repository — Swift, Kotlin, React Native or Flutter — and it does the developer work that does not need a phone in hand: building a screen from a spec, tracing a crash from the stack trace to the line, planning offline sync, and reading your purchase and sign-in flows against the App Store and Google Play rules that most often cause a rejection.
Things you could ask for
Written the way you would actually say them. The agent plans the steps itself.
- “Build the settings screen from this spec in SwiftUI and in Jetpack Compose, following each platform’s own navigation and controls.”
- “Take the top five crashes in Sentry this week, read the stack traces against our code, and tell me the cause and the fix for each.”
- “Review our subscription screen against the App Store guidelines on in-app purchase: restore, terms and privacy links, price display. List what a reviewer would reject.”
- “Plan offline support for our notes feature: what is cached, how conflicts resolve, and what the user sees when they come back online.”
- “Read our React Native project and list what needs to change for the next Android target SDK, with the files involved.”
What you get back
Code as files or diffs for your pull request, crash analyses that name the line and the fix, checklists against the store guidelines with the clause each item comes from, and design notes for features like offline sync or push. Release notes and store listing drafts come back as text you paste.
Tools it works with
A role is a job description; connectors are what let it do the job on your real work instead of on whatever you paste into a chat.
Where it is the wrong tool
- It cannot build, sign or run your app. There is no Xcode, Android SDK or simulator behind a remote agent, so it reasons from the source; a local agent with shell access in the desktop app can run builds on your own Mac or PC.
- There is no App Store Connect or Google Play Console connector. It cannot submit a build, read your reviews or change a listing; paste reviews or rejection messages in and it works from those.
- Store guidelines change. Treat its reading of a rule as a checklist to confirm against the current text, not a guarantee of approval.
- It cannot see your app on a device. Attach screenshots or a screen recording when the bug is visual.
Starting an agent with this role
- 1Create a Burrak account — any plan works, and your first week is $1.
- 2In the Marketplace, open the Roles tab, find Mobile App Builder and choose “Start an agent as Mobile App Builder”. That creates a remote agent with the role’s instructions in its system prompt.
- 3Connect the tools it needs — GitHub, GitLab, Sentry, Linear, Supabase, PostHog — from Connectors.
- 4Give it a brief. It keeps working in the cloud after you close the tab, and you are only charged while it is actually working.
The Mobile App Builder role, in practice
- Native or cross-platform?
- Both. It works in Swift and SwiftUI, Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, React Native and Flutter, and it will tell you when a feature is worth writing natively — camera, background work, widgets — even inside a cross-platform app.
- Can it publish my app to the App Store or Google Play?
- No. There is no store connector, and submitting a build needs your signing keys and your developer account. It can prepare the release notes, check the listing copy against the character limits and walk you through the submission.
- Can it fix crashes on its own?
- With Sentry and your repository connected it reads the stack trace, finds the code and proposes the fix as a diff. It cannot reproduce the crash on a device, so a fix should go out behind a test or a staged rollout rather than straight to everyone.
Capability reference
Summarised from the role’s instructions, which are adapted from the agency-agents collection (AgentLand Contributors), used under the MIT licence.
- Native iOS with Swift and SwiftUI, native Android with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
- Cross-platform apps with React Native or Flutter, with native modules where needed
- Offline-first architecture and data synchronisation
- Biometric sign-in, camera, location, push notifications and in-app purchases
- Startup time, memory and battery optimisation for mobile constraints
