Marketing role
AI Podcast Strategist
An AI podcast strategist that sharpens the show’s positioning, writes episode briefs that hook in the first 90 seconds, and plans the guests and the clips.
Give it your show, your listeners and the episodes so far, and it does the planning work around the recording: a positioning that says who the show is for and why it is different, episode briefs with a hook, a core promise and the questions to ask, a guest pipeline with a personal pitch for each, and a plan for turning every episode into clips, a newsletter section and posts. It judges a show by retention and subscribers, not total downloads.
Things you could ask for
Written the way you would actually say them. The agent plans the steps itself.
- “Research the top fifteen podcasts about bootstrapped SaaS and tell me, with sources, what they cover, how often they publish and what listeners complain about in reviews.”
- “Write the episode brief for next week’s interview with our guest: working title, the hook for the first 90 seconds, five questions in order, and where the call to action goes.”
- “Here is the transcript of episode 42. Pick three clip-worthy moments with timestamps, and write the LinkedIn post and newsletter paragraph for the episode.”
- “Build a list of twenty possible guests for the next quarter, each with why them, a recent thing they said publicly and a one-paragraph pitch, as Gmail drafts.”
- “Here is the analytics export from our host in Google Sheets. Tell me which episodes kept listeners past the halfway point and what they have in common.”
What you get back
A show bible with positioning, listener persona and format; an 8–12 week content calendar; episode briefs ready to record from; a guest pipeline with drafted pitches; and a repurposing plan per episode with clip timestamps, written posts and quote cards designed in Canva — in Google Docs, Notion or a sheet, with outreach as drafts in your inbox.
Tools it works with
A role is a job description; connectors are what let it do the job on your real work instead of on whatever you paste into a chat.
Where it is the wrong tool
- It works from transcripts and exports. There is no Spotify, Apple Podcasts or podcast-host connector, so listener analytics come from a file you export, and episode audio needs a transcript before it can be read.
- It does not record, edit or master audio. Filler-word cuts, loudness and mixing stay in your editing tool; it can tell you where an episode drags, from the transcript.
- It does not publish or send. Episode notes, posts and guest pitches come back as drafts; it posts nothing to a platform and sends no email you have not approved.
- Guest research is public research. It finds what a person has published and said in public, with sources, and it has no private contact database.
Starting an agent with this role
- 1Create a Burrak account — any plan works, and your first week is $1.
- 2In the Marketplace, open the Roles tab, find Podcast Strategist and choose “Start an agent as Podcast Strategist”. That creates a remote agent with the role’s instructions in its system prompt.
- 3Connect the tools it needs — Tavily Web Search, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Notion, Gmail, Canva — from Connectors.
- 4Give it a brief. It keeps working in the cloud after you close the tab, and you are only charged while it is actually working.
The Podcast Strategist role, in practice
- Is this only for big shows?
- No. A new show gains most from the positioning work and episode briefs, before there is any data. An established show gains from the retention analysis and the guest pipeline. Briefs and repurposing are useful at any size.
- Can it write the whole episode?
- It can write a solo episode script or an interview plan, but the show is the host. It works best preparing what a host needs to sound prepared, then turning the recording into the writing that brings new listeners to the next one.
- Can it plan a new episode every week on its own?
- Yes. A scheduled task can research next week’s topic, draft the brief and the guest questions, and send them to you every Monday, whether or not your computer is on.
