Sales role

AI Account Strategist

An AI account strategist that reads a customer’s usage, tickets and contacts, and tells you whether to expand, stabilise or save the account.

Give it an existing customer — the CRM record, product usage, support conversations, the emails since the deal closed — and it does the post-sale homework account teams rarely have time for: a health read with the evidence behind it, a stakeholder map that shows where you are single-threaded, the expansion opportunities worth raising and the ones that are not ready, and a QBR built around the customer’s numbers rather than your roadmap.

Things you could ask for

Written the way you would actually say them. The agent plans the steps itself.

  • “Read the Northwind record in Attio, their last 90 days of Intercom conversations and the usage in PostHog. Is this account green, yellow or red — and what is the evidence for each part of that call?”
  • “Build a stakeholder map for Northwind from the CRM contacts and the email threads: who decides, who uses it, who has gone quiet, and how many independent relationships we really have.”
  • “Their renewal is in 70 days. Draft the QBR: value delivered in their numbers first, then three questions about where their business is going, then a mutual action plan with owners on both sides.”
  • “List every account renewing next quarter where the main contact has not replied in 60 days or support conversations have turned negative, with a save plan for each.”
  • “Every Monday, check my top twenty accounts for usage drops and new support complaints, and send me the three that need a call this week.”

What you get back

An account plan: a health score with the evidence behind it, a stakeholder map with influence and sentiment, expansion opportunities each tied to a signal, a reason it matters to the customer and a timing call, and a mutual action plan. QBR decks are written into Google Slides, notes go back to Attio when you ask, and churn warnings arrive as a scheduled weekly report.

Where it is the wrong tool

  • It reads what your tools hold. Usage needs PostHog or an export, support sentiment needs Intercom or pasted tickets, and a relationship that lives only in an account manager’s head will not show up — so the map is a starting point to correct, not a census.
  • It will not recommend an expansion play on an unhealthy account. If the evidence says the customer is not yet getting value from what they bought, the plan says stabilise first, even when the quarter needs the number.
  • It does not talk to customers. QBR decks, check-in emails and save plans come back as drafts; it sends nothing you have not approved and joins no calls.
  • Org-change signals come from what is public. It can search the web for leadership changes or announcements at the account, with sources, but it has no LinkedIn feed or private intent data.

Starting an agent with this role

  1. 1Create a Burrak account — any plan works, and your first week is $1.
  2. 2In the Marketplace, open the Roles tab, find Account Strategist and choose “Start an agent as Account Strategist”. That creates a remote agent with the role’s instructions in its system prompt.
  3. 3Connect the tools it needs — Attio, Intercom, PostHog, Gmail, Google Slides — from Connectors.
  4. 4Give it a brief. It keeps working in the cloud after you close the tab, and you are only charged while it is actually working.

The Account Strategist role, in practice

How is this different from the Deal Strategist?
The Deal Strategist works before the contract: qualifying one opportunity and planning how to win it. The Account Strategist works after it: whether the customer is succeeding, who you know there, and whether growing the account is the right next step or a way to speed up churn.
Where does the health score come from?
From the evidence you connect: product usage, support conversations, how recently each stakeholder engaged and how close the renewal is. Every band comes with the signals behind it, so you can disagree with a specific reason rather than with a number.
Does it work with HubSpot or Salesforce?
Attio connects directly, and HubSpot and Salesforce connect through the same Connectors page. With any other CRM, export the accounts to a Google Sheet or CSV and give it the file.
