The Best AI Agents in 2026, and the Job Each One Is Best At
The best AI agents in 2026, compared honestly: ChatGPT agent, Claude Cowork, Manus, Genspark, Meta Muse, Lindy, Zapier Agents, n8n and Burrak AI, with prices.
"Best AI agent" depends entirely on the job. An agent that is brilliant at making slide decks can be the wrong choice for checking your inbox every morning, and the best tool for wiring two thousand apps together is not the easiest one for a beginner.
So this list is organised by what each agent is best at, with its price, and where it falls short.
How we checked. Prices are US list prices, checked between October and early November 2026 against each vendor's own pages where we could reach them, and against recent reporting where we could not. Agent products change their plans every few months, so check before you buy. We make one of the products here, Burrak AI, and we hold it to the same standard, including its weaknesses. 1. ChatGPT agent mode: best if you already pay for ChatGPT
Free plan: no · Paid: included with ChatGPT Plus ($20/month), Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu
ChatGPT's agent mode turns the chatbot you know into an agent: it can browse websites, fill in forms, work through multi-step tasks and produce files, inside the same ChatGPT window. If you already pay for Plus, it is the lowest-effort way to try agentic AI.
Where it falls short: usage is capped. OpenAI's help centre lists 40 agent messages a month on Plus. It is built for one-off tasks you start yourself rather than jobs that run in your tools every morning, and it is not on the free plan.
2. Claude Cowork: best for knowledge work on your own files
Free plan: no · Paid: included with Claude Pro ($20/month, or $17/month billed yearly), Max, Team and Enterprise
Cowork is Anthropic's agent for non-coding work: research, analysis and document creation across your files and tools. It now runs on the web, desktop and mobile, and the desktop app can work with files and applications on your own computer. For long documents and careful writing it is one of the strongest options.
Where it falls short: it needs a paid Claude plan, it runs only Anthropic's own models, and heavy use runs into Claude's plan limits.
3. Manus: best for whole projects done in the cloud
Free plan: yes, 300 credits a day (up to 1,500 a month) · Paid: from $20/month
Manus is the agent most people think of when they hear "autonomous AI agent". Describe a job, such as researching ten companies and building a spreadsheet, and it carries it out in its own cloud computer, browsing, writing files and checking its work. It also makes slides, images and simple websites, and has added scheduled tasks and triggers from email, Slack and Notion.
Where it falls short: it runs only in the cloud, so it cannot reach files on your computer or anything on a private network. You cannot choose the AI model, and credits on long tasks can go faster than you expect. More in Burrak AI vs Manus.
4. Genspark: best for making many kinds of content
Free plan: yes, about 100 credits a day · Paid: Plus $24.99/month; Pro $249.99/month
Genspark is an AI workspace that writes slides, spreadsheets and documents, makes images and video, can place phone calls on your behalf, and lets you pick between several leading models. A desktop version works on local files. If you want one subscription that produces the widest range of output, this is it.
Where it falls short: breadth means more tools to drive yourself, and it costs more than most agents here. More in Burrak AI vs Genspark.
5. Meta Muse: best for personal errands, if you are in the US or Canada
Free plan: yes · Paid: Power $20/month; Maximum $100/month
Muse is Meta's personal agent, launched in September 2026. It lives in its own app and in WhatsApp, keeps working after you close it, and can email, book and even buy things for you, with checkout through Link by Stripe. For everyday personal tasks it is polished and free to start.
Where it falls short: it is available only in the US and Canada, runs only Meta's own model, and is designed for personal errands rather than business work. It also asks you to hand your inbox, calendar and payments to a company whose business is advertising. We look at that in detail in Burrak AI vs Meta Muse.
6. Lindy: best for team workflows and voice agents
Free plan: $50 of credits for 7 days · Paid: $29.99 per active user per month
Lindy is one of the strongest agent builders: over 1,500 integrations, voice agents that answer and place phone calls, a flow editor with triggers and approval steps, and an Agent Builder that drafts the flow from a plain-English description. It now positions itself as a teammate inside Slack, with SOC 2 and HIPAA for regulated buyers.
Where it falls short: per-seat pricing adds up for a team and is expensive for one person doing a lot of work, and it is a cloud-only platform. More in Burrak AI vs Lindy.
7. Zapier Agents: best when work starts in another app
Free plan: yes, 400 activities a month · Paid: from $33.33/month billed yearly
Zapier Agents puts an AI agent on top of the biggest integration catalogue in the industry, more than 9,000 apps. If your work begins with an event, such as a form submitted, a deal won or a row added, and you need the agent to act across many apps, nothing else comes close on coverage.
Where it falls short: it is automation infrastructure with an agent attached. Agents are set up against tools and triggers you choose in advance, and every tool use counts as an activity, so a thorough run gets expensive. More in Burrak AI vs Zapier Agents.
8. n8n: best if you want to run it yourself
Free plan: yes, self-hosted · Paid: n8n Cloud from €20/month billed yearly
n8n is a workflow platform with AI agent steps that you can read the source of and run on your own server, with unlimited workflows for the price of the server. Billing per workflow run, however many steps it contains, makes it the cheapest option here at high volume.
Where it falls short: it asks the most of you. You draw the workflow, bring your own AI model keys, and, if you self-host, look after the server. It is for teams with technical skills. More in Burrak AI vs n8n.
9. Burrak AI: best for recurring work in your own tools, around the clock
Free plan: yes, on the web, desktop, iOS and Android (pay as you go) · Paid: Pro $9.99/month, with the first week for $1 on any plan
Burrak is ours, so weigh this entry accordingly. You give an agent a goal in plain English, such as "every Monday, summarise what our competitors announced" or "each morning, tell me which emails need my reply", and it does the work in the tools you connect: Gmail or Outlook, Google Calendar, Sheets, Docs, Notion, Stripe and others. Agents run in the cloud 24/7 or on your own computer, work on a schedule, remember your preferences, and notify you when they are done. You choose from 340+ AI models from many vendors, per task, and 239 ready-made roles give you a specialist to start from.
Where it falls short: it is a younger product than most on this list. It has far fewer integrations than Zapier or Lindy, a narrower creative range than Genspark or Manus, and it does not make phone calls or purchases. The free plan has no monthly credit allowance, so heavier use means topping up or a paid plan.
How to choose
- You want to try an agent today with no setup: use ChatGPT agent mode or Claude Cowork if you already pay for one of them; otherwise start on a free tier such as Manus, Genspark or Burrak.
- You want finished creative output (decks, images, video): Genspark or Manus.
- You want work done every day in your own email, calendar and documents: Burrak or Lindy. Burrak costs less and is not priced per seat; Lindy has far more integrations and voice agents.
- Your work starts with events in many apps: Zapier Agents.
- You have engineers and want full control: n8n.
- You want help with personal errands and live in the US or Canada: Meta Muse, if you are comfortable with Meta holding that data.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best AI agent overall? There is no single best. For one-off web tasks, ChatGPT agent mode is the easiest if you already pay for ChatGPT. For whole projects in the cloud, Manus. For recurring business work in your own tools at a low price, Burrak AI. For integrations, Zapier Agents.
What is the best free AI agent? Manus (300 credits a day), Genspark (about 100 a day) and Burrak AI (free on every app, pay as you go) all have free tiers you can do real work on. ChatGPT agent mode and Claude Cowork need a paid plan.
What is the difference between an AI agent and an AI assistant? An assistant answers and helps while you work. An agent takes a goal and does the work itself, including when you are not there. Many products now do both. See what is agentic AI.
Are AI agents safe for business use? They can be, with care: connect only the tools a job needs, start with read-only or draft-only access, review results, and pick a provider that shows a transcript of what the agent did and lets you control what it remembers.
